Version 01FEB86
The program, KCSETPAL.COM, gives an user the ability to change
the EGA's color palettes without going through the fancy KC-PAL
program. It is designed to be used in autoexec or other batch
files. Anytime that KC-PAL is used and the setting of palettes
are different from their default state, KC-PAL will display a
message giving the parameters for KCSETPAL. These parameters
can now be used with KCSETPAL in a batch file.
Enter KCSETPAL without any parameters will reset the palettes to
their default state.
The first time that KCSETPAL is used, with or without parameters,
it will cause a small amount of memory to be reserved to keep other
programs from resetting the palettes during mode changes. This will
not prevent programs from changing the palettes, only keeps from
losing it. Most program do not change the current palettes, but for
those that do: Put the program and KCSETPAL after it in a batch file,
after the program is finished KCSETPAL will automatically execute and
set the palettes to your desires. For example:
LOTUS
KCSETPAL ,1
If you use KC-PAL alot, KCSETPAL (with or without parameters) will
allow KC-PAL to read the old palette setting, put KCSETPAL in your
autoexec.bat file.
